As always, please remember to amplify our Democrats who are doing the work, don’t assume someone else is gonna do it because chances are they’re not.
So here are some our Dems worth amplifying today!
Repping the Rep Bill Foster (IL-11)
Told Axios that he is stepping down as ranking member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions after this term because he wants to set an example for other older members of Congress. He’s only 69, but he‘s been championing committee term limits for a long time.
I've passed the torch to the next generation. It was a little bit ironic that it was a couple of boomers arguing for generational change.
Rep Glenn Ivey (MD-04)
Had a lot to say at Dulles airport when he returned from El Salvador.
But he also did a lot while there he attended several round tables both with member members of the El Salvador community and with community leaders on top of jumping through hoops, only to be denied access to the facility his constituent Kilmar Abrego Garcia is being kept in.

Rep Mark Takano (CA-39)
Is a former public school teacher, and he gave his opinions on 3 events that he would include in an AANHPI curriculum. I took a sociology class focused on AANHPI history and I didn’t even know all of these.

Rep Andrea Salinas (OR-06)
Has today’s Democratic Daily Download, and she details what the big bad billionaire bill will do to abortion care. It’s another one of those pieces that they’ve snuck in that you might not know about yet.

Rep Johnny O (MD-02)
Went on Fox News today and he was asked about the investigation that’s happening into Biden’s fitness, no, I’m not kidding. So he responded with all the investigations that should be happening, but aren’t in favor of whatever this is. It might be the first time these Fox News viewers even heard about any of these stories.
MA Sens Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren
Joined Massachusetts’ Governor, Maura Healey and several MA healthcare organizations to sound the alarm over the big bad billionaire bill and especially the effects on healthcare. This press conference was about an hour so if you want details, this is where to get them.
And finally…
Sen Alex Padilla (CA)
Was interviewed by Marc Elias for Democracy Docket a few days ago all about how he is blocking the GOP from passing the SAVE act but also how he’s fighting to pass something better specifically the INVITE act which would make registering to vote part of the citizenship process. What a cool idea!
This is the video of him introducing the INVITE Act last week:

And those are just some of today’s fighters! Remember just because you’re not hearing about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
If you made it to the end of this post comment with 🔦 (torch) because we love that Bill Foster is stepping down to set an example
And if you watched or read any of the stories comment with 👨🏻🏫 (a teacher who looks nothing like Takano, but oh well)
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
