Let’s just jump right in, shall we?
Rep Jamie Raskin (MD-08)
He went on The Weekend on Sunday and said two pretty important things.
Reagan’s Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1989 argues that if your data has been compromised you can sue for damages. Every single American’s data has been compromised, at this point, so he suggests a country-wide class action lawsuit against Musk.
He gave a reminder that I think we all need. Many people like to think that elected Republicans will go from publicly in support of Musk and DT to publicly against them, but the reality is there are several steps between those, and those steps do mean movement. It goes, public support, silence, privately against, publicly against. Pay attention to which Republican electeds were publicly supporting and are now just silent.
Rep Gwen Moore (WI-04)
I want to lift up her incredible speech on the floor of the House today. She has been so impressive with everything she does, from her video outside the ED to this floor speech. She is one of our best fighters, and I can’t talk about her enough.
There were two rallies today. There was a huge crowd at The Rally to Save the Civil Service
I know I usually break them down, but I don’t have the time to do so today. I apologize about that.
The second we don’t have a full video of, but we do have Sen Chris Van Hollen’s speech. This one was called “Stop DOGE, Save NOAA.” And I will say, as usual, he was at both. I don’t think there is a single rally that has taken place on Capitol Hill that he didn’t attend.
Minority Leader Sen Chuck Schumer
Sen Schumer opened a whistleblower tip line against the corruption and misconduct of the Admin for the Senate Dems.
This comes shortly after Rep Paul Takano (NY-20) announced the same thing over the weekend.
Rep Robert Garcia (CA-42)
You’re probably sick of seeing him on this list, cause he seems to be here every single day, but that’s okay, cause he keeps doing amazing things. He was on Reid Out with Joy Reid yesterday and spoke about some of the ways Democrats in the House are working to stop Republicans, but also said, in no uncertain terms, that he will not support a single Republican bill for any reason for the time being. He won’t be giving them a single vote for anything.
I think that’s good for today. Always remember that you can find these stories, and more, if you follow all elected Dem members of Congress on all the socials you have.
I can’t post everything, but you have the ability to find things I don’t post just by following elected officials. Remember, it’s on us to make these stories go viral!
Your voice is your superpower, but only when you use it!
