Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise, and Fighting Back Day 5
When a tree falls in a forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
MSM (Mainstream media) isn’t going to tell us about the Dems who are fighting back. They’re just not. That’s not a new thing either. But that means it’s on us to spread the word. When only a handful of people follow a given elected, then, guess what? It doesn’t matter how amazing they are, no one will see it.
And even I struggled with finding these stories today. Not because they’re not happening, but because they didn’t even get enough views to land on my FYP.
Luckily, today, I created a starter pack on Blue Sky for Dem Senators, and Gwen Moore has two for Dem House members. These are thankfully in chronological order, making my job slightly less than impossible.
So here are today’s Dems Doing the Work:
Rep Gerry Connolly (VA11)
He sent a letter to the Admin, demanding that Congress gets a list of everyone who is getting security clearance, among other things, by Feb 12.
WA Sen Patty Murray
She has receipts on exactly why she’s voting no on Vought
Rep Marcy Kaptur (OH09)
She and Sen Murray sent a letter to the acting Secretary of Energy demanding answers as to why funds already allocated for solar energy were frozen by Feb 7.
Rep Greg Landsman (OH01)
He has announces his first town hall for Feb 22. It will be from 12-1pm at the Blue Ash Municipal building in Cincinnati. I love this because he is the first rep I have seen announce a town hall. If your rep has not announced one, that should be something you mention when you contact them. These should be happening regularly. If you are his constituent and you are able, please make a plan to attend and prepare a question or two to either thank him or hold him accountable.
Rep Robert Garcia (CA42)
He is continuing to raise his voice in anger over Dem Senators who are voting to confirm any of DT’s noms.
Rep Andrea Salinas (OR06)
She made a YouTube video at Lines for Lives, a mental health crisis hotline in OR asking them exactly how DT’s end to Federal Funding would effect this organization specifically. I love this because specifics are what has the best chance of explaining to people who might not care about politics. Of course part of doing the work is what is done in Washington, but a lot of it is also communicating with constituents, and this is brilliant, it just needs a little help going viral, so please watch it!
And those are today’s Dems Doing the Work. And please remember, a lot is happening behind closed doors that is not ready for public consumption, so while you might not think enough is happening, we aren’t going to know the vast majority of what happened today for a little bit. That’s how it has to be if we want it to be done right.
Your voice is your superpower, but only when you use it!

Hi Ariella, an fyi that the two links you've shared to Rep Moore's starter packs are "broken."
Thanks again, I really appreciate what you're doing here.
