Building Bridges by Building Bridges
Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 199
I don’t understand how people can say Dems aren’t doing the work, when all they have to do is look at the Dem’s accounts to see how wrong they are.
Repping the Rep: Deborah Ross (NC-02)
Might just be sharing a Reuters article, but that’s not always a bad thing. Especially when it’s a story not everyone knows, and I know not everyone knows it, cause I didn’t.
Did you know that FEMA staff are being transfered to ICE just in time for hurricane season? I wonder what Republican voters think of this one.
Rep Bobby Scott (VA-03)
Is the ranking member on the House Education and Workforce Committee. So it’s only natural that he would host a forum on the closing of the Job Corps program.
And if you think this doesn’t matter or this isn’t enough about fighting fascism, making sure kids are educated and able to thrive is EXACTLY what it means to fight fascism.
Rep Lori Trahan (MA-03)
Got to be at the groundbreaking for the new Rourke Bridge. The old was was not suppose to last this long, but it thankfully did. And now, thanks to Rep Trahan’s hard work, $250m in federal funds was given to make a new bridge a reality.
So of course she has to be at the groundbreaking, afterall, she made it happen.

DNC ( )
posted today’s Daily Blueprint. And I always hope that including it in this series will mean that tomorrow there will be thousands of views, and I’m always disappointed.
I don’t get it. Everyone complained FOR MONTHS about there being a lack of daily messaging, and now it’s here and somehow it’s not worth watching?
Did you know that Trump’s pick for the Bureau of Labor Statistics is EJ Antoni, one of the Project 2025 authors? Well, I mean, even if you didn’t, it’s not all that surprising, though the things he believes certainly make me sick to my stomach.
But what about Rep George Whitesides (CA-27)? I bet you didn’t know about the bill he introduced to stop the Bureau from becoming partisan. It’s called the Statistical Agency Integrity and Independence Act. Have you noticed that every single time this government does something illegal, a Dem will instantly introduce a bill that will make that thing impossible in the future?
And no, most of these bills can’t pass this year, but they can be discussed and get cosponsors and reworked and when we do have power again, (which will be in 2027, because everyone is going to vote RIGHT?) they’ll have been workshopped enough now to be introduced and passed relatively quickly. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
And, Hannah also talked about this Saturday, The DNC has put together their own protest day “Fight The Trump Takeover,” it’s officially about redistricting, but like every other protest day, in practice it’s about all of it. See if there is a protest near you, and if not, register one! And, no one is talking about how this is the DNC, so please spread that as far and wide as possible, I’m tired of people talking about the amazing work the DNC is doing while still being able to shit on the DNC cause everyone is just conveniently leaving out who set it up.
Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14)
Held a quasi round table at a literal round table with Texas House Dems last week. Because she’s Lauren Underwood and a nurse first, of course the conversation was about healthcare, specifically maternal health care.
And finally…
Rep Sarah Elfreth (MD-03)
posted an incredible video after FINALLY getting an oversight visit of the Baltimore ICE facility. She basically ran down all the questions she asked the agents. We normally get a bit more of a summary, but this felt like a deep dive, and I really love that.
She was also there with Rep Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) and Sen Chris Van Hollen
They held a press conference after the visit as well

So, if you’re saying Dems aren’t doing the work, are you even looking? And if you’re looking, are you just overlooking things that aren’t flashy enough?
Or are they just not the reps people have deemed worthy, cause I just saw a whole comment section full of praise for AOC and a strongly worded letter she just wrote. Which is GREAT! But why the hatred for anyone who isn’t her doing the same thing?
Dems are doing the work every single day, and every single little bit of work they do goes towards fighting fascism. Just like every single little thing we do does.
Anyway…
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🪧(protest) cause I hope you went to the website and found out if you have one near you on Saturday
And if you watched or read any of these stories comment 🌉(bridge) because getting federal funding for anything is a huge deal at this point.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
